Linder; Works 1976-2006
Andrew Renton, JRP|Ringier, 2006, Hardcover
Linder Sterling's work first came to light in the the punk fanzine The Secret Public and as art for the sleeve of the Buzzcocks' first single, "Orgasm Addict." She soon had her own band, Ludus, which she founded with Ian Divine and since then her visuals and performances have remained legendary, one example being her raw meat and black vibrator costume which had its first foray in Manchester's the Hacienda. Working outside of the institutional and academic realm, Linder has continued to make multi-disciplinary work that has only recently started to receive wider recognition. This book includes contributions from writers and cultural figures including Philip Hoare, Jon Savage, Andrew Renton, Lynne Tillman, Paul Bailey and Morrissey.
